Down on the Farm: 5/18/2015

AAA  Sacramento River Cats lit up the Albuquerque Isotopes 12-5:

Ehire Adrianza(SS)- 3 for 5, BB.  BA= .328.
Adam Duvall(3B)- 2 for 6, 3B.  BA= .316.
Travis Ishikawa(1B)- 3 for 5.  BA= .318.
Juan Perez(LF)- 3 for 4, 2 2B, HR(2), BB, SB(8).  BA= .248.
Carlos Triunfel(2B)- 3 for 5, 2 2B, HR(1).  BA= .247.
Ty Blach(LHP)- 7 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 1 K, GO/AO= 16/4.  ERA= 3.83.

Seems like the Giants are going to have to make a decision re. Travis Ishikawa soon.  There is more than 1 MLB GM who should be calling about Adrianza.

AA  Erie Seawolves outscored the Richmond Flying Squirrels 10-6:

Kelby Tomlinson(2B)- 2 for 4, BB, Sac.  BA= .314.
Daniel Carbonell(CF)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .175.
Jackson Williams(Catcher)- 2 for 4.  BA= .193.

Carbonell has a 4 game hit streak in which he is 6 for 15.

High A  Visalia Rawhide whipped the San Jose Giants 7-3:

Jesus Galindo(DH)- 2 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .281.
Ryder Jones(3B)- 2 for 4.  BA= .288.

Galindo is hitting .314 over his last 10 games.  Jones' bat had cooled off a bit so it's good to seem him break the fall with a 2 hit game.

*********************************************************************************

Low A  Savannah Sand Gnats stung the Augusta Greenjackets 4-3:

Will Callaway(LF)- 2 for 4, 3B, BB.  BA= .311.
Travious Relaford(2B)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .247.
Raymundo Montero(RHP)- 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 H, 3 BB.  BA= 1.85.

Yoan Moncada Watch:  Moncada went 0 for 3 with a BB in his US pro debut for the Greenville Drive.  He was also charged with an error, but made some nice plays at 2B.

  1. I still like Adrianza for replacing Arias for the 2016 season. I still believe in his bat and zone discipline, and think that he just needs the chance to prove it. I was very happy that he made it through waivers and we were able to keep him.

Yeah, Ishikawa should be next, soon, after Cordier's DFA. Do you think happens when the decision on Ishikawa has to be made?

  2. Surprised Adrianza cleared to begin with, especially after the premium put on a guy like Didi Gregorious a year or two ago. I say keep Adrianza in AAA for a while, see if he really starts raking and package him at the deadline if necessary for a piece for a playoff run if we're in the hunt.

Arias needs to be the odd man out with Ishikawa, especially after Ishikawa played a semi-passable LF last year and has some pop in his bat. Arias provides nothing Duffy does not already do better (and he's on the rise).
